Introduction
The ChristianUnion was founded on January 22, 2000 as a merge of two parliamentary parties (GPV and RPF). A rather young party, however, one with a rich history.
The ChristianUnion builds further upon the knowledge of great thinkers in the Christian tradition, like Augustine, Martin Luther and John Calvin. The party is in the line of tradition of Mr. Groen van Prinsterer (1801-1976). An advocate for politics and education based on biblical principles.
We have set our self the mission to serve society by making God’s will more prevalent in society’s functioning. In order to reach this goal we aim for a strong political representation on every political level. The ChristianUnion frames its political views on current political issues in obedience to the Word of God.
We constructively seek ways to make a Biblically inspired political message heard in all political and social forums. Therefore, our representatives voice a Christian view on politics and society at all levels ranging from local councils to the European Parliament.
But what exactly do we stand for? Read our Founding Declaration and our Programme of Principles.
